Head of Controlling and Reporting

We support digital transformation, productize innovation, and accelerate ventures. The company is looking for a Head of Controlling and Reporting who will be providing significant support to HTEC’s growth strategy by integrating and optimizing controlling, budgeting, and planning activities combined with ERP implementation and integration initiatives. This position will be based in Belgrade, Serbia, and working to support our business worldwide. 

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for working in a fast-paced and high growth environment
  • 7+ years experience in leading controlling, reporting, and finance teams 
  • A university degree
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience working in a corporate environment 
  • Previous experience in EPR implementation and usage
  • Fluent English and native Serbian 

Key responsibilities: 

Goal: To enable growth and development of the company by strengthening the controlling, reporting, and financial planning function.

  • Managing the finance controlling and reporting team 
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Leading and coordinating the budgeting and planning activities 
  • Designing and running the reporting, planning, and budgeting processes
  • Continually optimizing internal structures and processes to create and ensure transparency
  • Implementing and optimizing best-in-class management information systems and KPIs
  • Supporting M&A transactions, in particular, post-acquisition/merger integration of the newly acquired businesses on the international level
  • Participating in the design and implementation of various financial models and analyses
  • Managing, evaluating, educating, and developing employees within the controlling department
  • Communicating with external finance and accounting providers and ensuring accuracy and timely reporting
  • Actively participating in operational finance activities
  • Participating in the Audit procedure

Core deliverables

In the first 30 days:

  • Onboarding to the current team and resources available
  • Learning about our current company processes
  • Understanding the reporting framework and timeline

In the first 60 days:

  • Define and map key budget holders within the company
  • Identify key report stakeholders
  • Work hand in hand with controlling team members on defining a set of monthly reporting deliverables  

In the first 90 days:

  • Start the active implementation of the controlling and budgeting process optimization
  • Have a complete understanding of the company’s financial operations

Required skills

  • Deep understanding of financial statements, consolidation procedures, and a general ledger
  • Excellent organizational skills — the position requires a person that is highly organized, professional and goal-oriented 
  • Analytical skills — being able to find and present relevant financial information clearly and concisely to the senior leadership team
