Humeds: Reducing heart attacks with a medical device powered by AI and IoT

Project: Empower consumers with medical-grade AI and IoT heart monitoring

The HTEC engineering team worked with leading electrophysiologists and cardiologists to develop a complete telehealth solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to record and analyze ECGs and automate the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias.

Challenge: Accelerating speed to medical care for patients with heart conditions

The number of people with cardiac diseases and heart conditions has increased over the past 20 years, yet the resources for hospitals and doctors to treat these conditions have not grown at the same rate.

Patients with heart conditions need fast access to medical care. However, the lack of available medical staff and the conflicting schedules of patients and physicians make it hard to book appointments, slowing down the diagnosis of urgent heart conditions.

Solution: Revolutionary medical device plus companion platform and app

For more than two years, HTEC engineers worked intensively with leading electrophysiologists and cardiologists to develop a revolutionary technological breakthrough.

From this collaboration, the HTEC team developed the Humeds Cardia-3, a complete solution consisting of a medical hardware device and software platform, as well as web and mobile applications. The dedicated NFC-enabled mobile app records, monitors, and shares ECG signals in real-time, while the web and tablet apps offer the complete functionality of an ECG diagnostic tool, including an admin panel and account management features.

Because the Humeds medical device was built using AI and IoT technologies, the user can quickly and easily capture high-quality ECG signals, which are stored in the cloud and automatically downloaded to a doctor’s mobile or tablet device. Advanced built-in algorithms track automatic arrhythmia classification, whenever they occur. The complete diagnostic system covers 95% of cardiac arrhythmias, with 99.6% precision, based on the MIT database.

This solution is unique because it uses a high-quality ECG signal, achieved by using only dry electrodes (without the need for prior skin preparation), along with automatic arrhythmia classification. All of this helps doctors speed up diagnosis so patients can get feedback on their smartphones immediately. It also allows doctors to respond quickly, which is essential for saving patients’ lives and helping them recover quickly.

Humeds innovative telehealth technology, which allows comfortable and straightforward ECG recording and analysis, at any time and any place, enables quick, automatic and precise diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia.

Success: Advancing telehealth with the Humeds Cardia-3 medical device

The Humeds telehealth solution contributes to solving various healthcare issues, including rising costs, a shortage of medical experts, inadequate patient care, the need for remote monitoring, and the lack of time people have for doctor’s appointments.

Advancing telehealth with the Humeds Cardia-3 medical device empowered by AI and IoT technology.

Telemedicine is improving people’s lives every day. The Humeds Cardia-3 system, spearheaded by the HTEC team using AI and IoT technologies, provides a complete solution for cardiac telemonitoring that’s convenient, precise, and user-friendly.
