HTEC is marking International Women’s Day with a set of activities dedicated to empowering women in tech and shining the spotlight on the women making a difference in the technological landscape of today. The planned events will be particularly focused on women’s health and modern-day technologies paving the way for a healthier tomorrow.
The series of events kicks off on March 8. with an online panel discussion titled Strong Tech for Powerful Women. The panel will bring together women who are global leaders in the intertwined fields of business, health, and technology. The panelists will draw from their vast experience to detail the increasing and complex role of technology in contemporary medicine and health programs and discuss how technology can improve women’s health outcomes.

Speakers
As the CEO and Founder of Marani Health Inc., a MedTech startup from Minneapolis, Ann has spearheaded the development of AI-empowered, wearable medical devices monitoring key vital parameters during pregnancy.
Sarah is a Public Health Expert working in the Emergencies Programme of the World Health Organization in Geneva. Her career in international public health has focused on policies and strategies for epidemic and pandemic preparedness and response.
Grace is an investor at Brighton Park Capital (BPC), an investment firm focused on the tech sector, and she is the board observer for HTEC Group. Grace’s primary responsibilities at BPC include deal sourcing, completing due diligence on prospective investments, and working with portfolio companies on value creation.
Tina is a health information expert with more than 20 years of work in WHO, European Union and academia. Her expertise spans health research, analysis, and policymaking.
The event will be moderated by our very own Katarina Urošević, whose professional experience spans both the public and the private sector, specializing in science, technology and innovation policy and managing major development projects within international organizations.
What’s next
This event will also serve as the announcement and the official opening of the HTEC Idea Marathon. After the panel, we will invite female students from across Southeast Europe, to think about the ideas our panelists have raised, and work in teams to come up with their own technology solutions for women’s health issues. The HTEC Idea Marathon will take place on March 23 and 24, over the course of 42 hours, mirroring the 42 kilometers of a marathon. Girls from different fields of study will work in multidisciplinary teams
