Binocs, Bluecrux’ SaaS solution is designed to help pharmaceutical companies manage their scheduling and planning for QC, QA, R&D and CGT operations. It focuses heavily on configurability and grows at a fast pace globally. This means they always have to consider the balance of maintainability, scalability and the specific customer needs.
Bluecrux approached HTEC to help them on their mission to grow in the future.

Binocs, Bluecrux’ SaaS solution is designed to help pharmaceutical companies manage their scheduling and planning for QC, QA, R&D and CGT operations.
It offers AI-enhanced automatic scheduling, scenario-based planning, actionable analytics and end-to-end visibility. Binocs is a laser-focused cloud-based enterprise software that allows companies to build the true digital lab of tomorrow. 40% of the big pharma companies are already using Binocs including companies like Merck, Novartis, GSK, Roche, Pfizer, and others.
Being a vertical SaaS solution, Binocs focuses on a specific niche — it has to go the extra mile to make it exactly fit the reality of the labs. As every lab is different and has their way of working, Binocs focuses heavily on configurability. Binocs also grows at a fast pace globally. This means they always have to consider the balance of maintainability, scalability and the specific customer needs and requests.
A second challenge Binocs faces is the large of amount of accurate masterdata that is required for digitalising the lab operations. Specifically on the technical side, the links between different pieces of masterdata that is maintained in Binocs combined with the increasing data size over years, creates an important backend focus point on data integrity.
Lastly, as currently more than 1000 teams globally rely on Binocs for their scheduling and planning, uptime and avoiding regressions is paramount.
In a world where demand for skilled engineers is high, it has proven a challenge to attract talented developers. To supplement their in-house engineering team, Bluecrux approached HTEC to help them on their mission.
The collaboration between HTEC and Binocs started a while ago. So far, we have contributed to the overall product roadmap of Binocs, but, most importantly, we have all gained and shared a lot of technical and domain knowledge with each other. This, backed up by our strong team spirit allows us to support Binocs’ growth in future and helps them stay the go-to solution in this field.

Bluecrux and HTEC started collaborating 3 years ago to reinforce the Binocs engineering team. HTEC leverages its network to find the right match between skilled engineers and the specific needs of the Binocs engineering team.
Over the past years, engineers from HTEC contributed to the overall roadmap by working with the rest of the Binocs engineering team to build several new features, incorporated new technologies while always considering performance, impact on infrastructure needs and scalability.
This included interactive dashboarding and reporting functionality, complete and searchable audit trails, campaigning algorithms, increased performance and stability and specific features for Cell Gene Therapy (CGT) developers.
According to Bluecrux, the smooth communication and frequent interactions with the Binocs engineering team, the ownership that HTEC engineers show and the true commitment to deliver value to users, makes HTEC stand out.
