HTEC Supports Young Talents

After partnering with BEST Belgrade, a student organization and a member of the Board of European Students of Technology, last December in support of the Artificial Intelligence Battleground (AIBG) competition, HTEC Group continues to support student competitions.

This month, we were a platinum partner to the BEST Novi Sad branch in a new AIBG hackathon. The rules are similar to the ones in the previous competitions and they demand that in less than 24 hours the teams of 3 to 4 people write an autonomous intelligent bot to compete in a computer game created by organizers.

This is the first time that BEST Novi Sad organized such a competition. A couple of teams from three faculties from Novi Sad, 28 students in total, were competing. Teams mostly used Python and Java, but some also used other programming languages.

The team “Autobots” from the Faculty of Sciences won the competition. “INFTN”—a team of students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences took second place, and third were “SamurAI” also from the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

To celebrate the success of the young talents and to share a glimpse of our HTEC experience, HTEC Group welcomed the winning teams and organizers in its Novi Sad offices. Our colleagues showed them around, shared the information about some of the projects we are working on, our organization structure and processes, and we introduced them to the possibilities and the process of becoming an HTEC intern.

Similar to the previous competition, we offered code review and quality check from HTEC’s best engineers and offered our young colleagues advice on how to improve their skills.

HTEC’s growing People and Education Office will continue to cooperate with student organizations to help them organize similar events and to recognize the most talented and motivated students in the future.
