In collaboration with leading electrophysiologists and cardiologists, the HTEC engineering team has developed a complete telehealth solution, which enables simple and comfortable ECG recording and analysis, combined with the quick, automatic and precise diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias.
Challenge
There has been a substantial increase in the number of people with cardiac diseases and heart conditions over the past couple of decades, while the capacities of medical institutions and doctors have not been growing at the same rate. The availability of medical staff and the conflicting schedules of patients and their physicians, make appointments complicated, and they are often postponed. More often than not, patients with heart conditions need a quick access to medical care.
The heart should always come first.
Capacity
For more than two years, a team of HTEC engineers intensively collaborated with a group of leading electrophysiologists and cardiologists on the project, with the aim of developing this revolutionary technological breakthrough.
The HTEC team has developed a complete solution, Humeds Cardia-3, consisting of a medical hardware device and software platform, which includes both web and mobile applications. The dedicated NFC-enabled mobile application allows for real-time ECG signal acquisition, monitoring and sharing, while the web and tablet applications offer the complete functionality of an ECG diagnostic tool, in addition to an admin panel and account management features.
With this device, the user can easily capture high-quality ECG signals, which are stored in the cloud and automatically downloaded to a doctor’s mobile or tablet device. A set of advanced built-in algorithms enables automatic arrhythmia classification, whenever they occur. The complete diagnostic system covers 95% of cardiac arrhythmias, with 99.6% precision, based on the MIT database.
A high-quality ECG signal, achieved by using only dry electrodes (without the need for prior skin preparation) along with automatic arrhythmia classification makes this solution unique on the market. All of this helps doctors speed up the diagnosis so that patients can get feedback on their smartphones immediately. This way, doctors can respond quickly, which is often essential for saving patients’ lives and extremely important for their speedy recovery.
Humeds innovative telehealth technology, which allows comfortable and straightforward ECG recording and analysis, at any time and any place, enables quick, automatic and precise diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia.
Success
Humeds telehealth solutions contribute to solving the problems of the globally increasing costs of health-care, shortage of medical experts, inadequate patient care, ever-increasing need for remote monitoring, and the general lack of time one can dedicate to doctor’s appointments and consultations. Its convenience and accuracy, combined with its user-friendly interface, make Humeds Cardia-3 practical for both home and institutional use, with tracking and diagnosis more comfortable for both the patient and the physician.
Telemedicine is improving people’s lives every day. The Humeds system provides a complete solution for cardiac patients telemonitoring and diagnostics.
